Clear safety reports for homeowners and landlords

Electrical Safety Checks (EICR)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) checks everything electrical in a property. We look at the fuse board, the wiring and every socket. Each thing we find is coded, so you know what's safe, what needs work and what can wait.

Private landlords in Scotland need an EICR at least every five years. Buyers use one to avoid nasty surprises. You get the formal report and a plain-words summary. If anything needs fixing, we give you a fixed price.

EICRs questions, answered

How much does an EICR cost?

It depends on the size of the property and the number of circuits. You get a clear price before you book, and landlords with several homes can agree it up front.

How often do I need an EICR?

Private rented homes in Scotland need one at least every five years. For your own home, every ten years is the usual advice. Get one sooner if you're buying or selling.

What if the report is unsatisfactory?

It means one or more things need work. We explain each one in plain words and give you a fixed price to fix them and reissue the report.

How long does an EICR take?

Two to four hours for most homes. We work tidily and put everything back as we found it.
